Federation of Secretariat Employees in WB on `Fast unto Death`

Some members of the Federation of Secretariat Employees (WB) along with their family members began a `fast unto death` on Tuesday at the state secretariat, demanding withdrawal of all `fake` police cases against some members.

Kolkata: Some members of the Federation
of Secretariat Employees (West Bengal) along with their family
members began a `fast unto death` on Tuesday at the state
secretariat, demanding withdrawal of all `fake` police cases
against some members.
The Federation general secretary, Sanket Chakraborti,
who was also on a fast in support of the demand, said that he
had already submitted a memorandum to the state`s Chief
Secretary, Samar Ghosh, in this regard.

Known for its stand against the state government and
its affiliated Coordination Committee of the State Government
Employees Unions, the Federation has always been a eyesore of
the state administration, Chakraborti alleged.
"The administration is always trying to disturb our
members with intentional and fake police cases", he alleged.

Chakraborti said that till late evening nobody contacted
them on behalf of the administration.

"Only a police official requested them to withdraw the
agitation and leave the state secretariat immediately. But I
refused to withdraw our agitation", Chakraborti said.
