Maldah: Five passengers were killed on
the spot and 25 others injured, two of them critically, when
a speeding truck rammed into a South Bengal state transport
bus at Gajole near here on Monday, police said.
The truck rammed into the bus and was telescoped into its
front portion, Maldah district additional superintendent of
police Shyam Singh said.
The bus was on way to Durgapur from Balurghat in South
Dinajpur district.
The driver of the truck is absconding, he said, adding
the injured have been rushed to a hospital here.
