Forward Bloc irked at WB Governor`s statement

Forward Bloc today attacked West Bengal Governor MK Narayanan for his statement apprehending violence during the pujas, saying that he should have refrained from going public on the internal political situation in the state.

Kolkata: Forward Bloc on Wednesday attacked West Bengal Governor MK Narayanan for his statement apprehending violence during the pujas, saying that he should have refrained from going public on the internal political situation in the state.
"The Governor can send his report to the Centre on the
prevailing political situation. But why he should make a
public statement on the internal political situation here?"
Forward Bloc state general secretary Ashok Ghosh told PTI.

Ghosh also questioned why the Governor did not comment
on Maoists spreading their tentacles with Trinamool Congress,
which allegedly gave them support.

"It is surprising that he was silent in his statement
about the direct support given by an ally in the UPA
government to the Maoists who are indulging in killings every
now and then," the veteran leader said.

"Why has he remained tight-lipped about the Trinamool
Congress demanding withdrawal of joint-forces from Lalgarh?"
When told that CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose had
yesterday agreed with what the Governor said, Ghosh said "We
are not concerned with what the CPI(M) has said."

In his statement, the Governor had warned that
violence in districts could kill the festive spirit.

Apparently like his predecessor Gopal Krishna Gandhi,
the Governor felt disturbed by the "wail of grieving
families".
