Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday announced that panchayat elections in the state would be held after the pujas.
"The panchayat elections will be held after the pujas. We have to usher in real development in rural areas," Banerjee told a party rally here to observe its annual `martyrs` day`.
"Remove the CPI(M) from those rural bodies where they have stalled development. Villages are the base of development," she said.
