Helicopter service in three Bengal distts: Mamata

The CM concluded on Saturday night her threeday whirlwind tour of four districts to galvanise lower bureaucracy to speed up developmental activities.

Burdwan: Helicopter services will
soon be launched in three districts of West Bengal, Chief
Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Saturday.

The places are Asansol and Durgapur in Burdwan, Haldia
in East Midnapur and Raichak in South 24-Parganas districts,
Banerjee told reporters at Durgapur.

As the state government has various plans for
Asansol-Durgapur region and Haldia is already an industrial
town, the helicopter service will help people especially
businessmen, she said.

Stating that a wagon factory is coming up in Kulti and
a fertiliser factory in Panagarh, Banerjee said SAIL would
invest Rs 20,000 crore for expansion of the the Durgapur Steel
Plant.

The chief minister concluded tonight her three-day
whirlwind tour of four districts- Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum
and Burdwan to galvanise lower bureaucracy to speed up
developmental activities.
