Left Front to protest petrol price hike

The Left Front on Tuesday decided to hold protest rallies and meetings against rise in prices of petrol and essential commodities.

Kolkata: The Left Front on Tuesday decided to hold
protest rallies and meetings against rise in prices of petrol
and essential commodities.
"The Centre is likely to increase diesel and LPG price
soon. The Left Front workers will take to the streets
immediately after the announcement to protest the hike which
will affect the common man," Left Front chairman Biman Bose
told newsmen here after a Front meeting.

"The Front meeting criticised the Centre for its failure
to curb spiralling prices," he said.

Referring to post poll violence in the state, Bose said,
"Though the new dispensation has said it wants change and not
revenge, our people are being attacked."
A delegation of the Left Front members had met Governor M
K Narayanan yesterday and submitted a memorandum on the
alleged attacks by supporters of the Trinamool Congress-
Congress combine.

"With the new government yet to take charge, it is the
responsibility of the Governor to ensure peace and we hope he
will take necessary steps in this direction," he said.
