Left in Bengal to strike over diesel hike, FDI

Kolkata: The Left front has called for a 12-hour strike in West Bengal next week to protest against diesel price hike and allowing of foreign direct investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail, an official said on Sunday.

Left front chairman Biman Bose told reporters here Sunday: "We would observe a 12-hour strike Sep 20 to protest the hike in prices of fuel and FDI in multi-brand retail."
