Pranab Mukherjee dismissed ruling Left Front`s claim to form next government and said it would get less than 15 seats out of 75 constituencies going to poll on Wednesday in the third phase assembly election in West Bengal.
Bankura (WB): Union Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday dismissed ruling Left Front`s claim to form next government and said it would get less than 15 seats out of 75 constituencies going to poll on Wednesday in the third
phase assembly election in West Bengal.
"The Left Front`s claim to form eighth LF government in
West Bengal is baseless. It will get less than 15 of 75 seats
in North and South 24-Parganas districts and Kolkata going to
poll tomorrow," the senior Congress leader told two election
rallies at Simlapal and Jaipur.
"I am not building castle in the air. My calculation
has solid base. I have information. I know how to read
people`s pulse. People want to breath fresh by crushing the
corrupt and inefficient government," he said.
Mukherjee said till 2006 scores of people dared not
(not) to speak against the Marxists and come out for vote.
"But things have changed now. People have gained courage to
protest and this mood will radically change the political
scenario of the state under the leadership of Trinamool
Congress chief, Mamata Banerjee" he said.
Bankura district has 12 seats of which nine
constituencies are going to poll on the fifth phase poll on
May seven and three constituencies on the sixth and final
phase on May ten.
