Mamata Banerjee for communal harmony in enclaves

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday stressed on the need for communal harmony among the dwellers of 162 enclaves in the state's Cooch Behar district.

Addressing a gathering at Dakuarhat under Nayarhat Gram Panchayat along the Indo-Bangla border, Banerjee said communal harmony was the need of the hour.

Enclaves, locally known as "Chhitmahals", is an area which is surrounded by Bangladesh.

During her speech the CM highlighted the need for communal harmony among all sections of the people.

The CM announced a bunch of new projects as Rs 20-crore Mother and Child Hub at MJN Hospital in Cooch Behar, bird sanctuary at Rasik-bil mini-zoo complex in Tufanganj, Haldibari Stadium and a 500-seat auditorium in Cooch Behar.
