here in South 24 Parganas shortly after senior leader Partha
Chatterjee alleged that armed CPI(M) cadre exploded bombs near
his car while he was on his way to the gathering.
Earlier, Banerjee said she walked four miles to reach
the rally venue with securitymen in tow to protest the

Claiming that the Left Front government in the state
had lost the moral right to continue in power, she said though
the assembly elections were due before June 11 next year, the
state would come under the jurisdiction of Election Commission

Chatterjee, the Leader of the Opposition, earlier
alleged that armed CPI(M) cadre intercepted his car and
exploded bombs while he was on his way to the rally.
Trinamool Congress sources claimed that four party
supporters were seriously injured when lathi-wielding CPI(M)
workers attacked them at Netrabazar.
The police, who were posted in strength around the
venue of the rally, however, did not confirm the attack.
