Kolkata: As names of several Trinamool Congress leaders are cropping up in the ongoing CBI probe into the Saradha chitfund scam, CPI(M) Politburo member and Left Front chairman Biman Bose on Monday said the TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was getting scared.
"I don't know why she (Mamata) has been opposing the CBI probe into the Saradha scam. She had even used the state's money to oppose the PIL at the Supreme Court seeking a CBI inquiry into the scam which she lost. And she is still against the CBI probe," Bose said at a press conference.
"It's she who used to demand CBI inquiry even for small incidents earlier, but now why is she opposing it in a big scam like Saradha? Has she ever thought why so many leaders of her party are being named in the CBI's probe into the scam? Is she scared?" Bose questioned.
Expressing shock on Banerjee's use of unparliamentary language at a party meeting on Saturday, the LF chairman said it was "not unusual".
"It's quite shocking that our Chief Minister is speaking in such a language... But it's quite natural from somebody who is used to speaking such a language.
"I don't think any of West Bengal's former chief ministers had ever spoken in such a language. And I don't think Chief Ministers of any state will use such a language," Bose said.
