Kolkata: Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee
took a dig at Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee`s
sarcastic remarks on the frequent launch of trains in West
Bengal and asked him to wear spectacles to see the development
of the Railways in the state.

"Wear spectacles to see the development of the Railways
in the state. Trains will be introduced daily. I advise you to
have the vision and the feeling for the development of the
Railways here," Banerjee said in reply to the chief minister`s
doubts about the efficacy of introducing many trains in the
state.

Bhattacharjee, at recent meetings had ridiculed Banerjee
for introducing trains frequently instead of improving the
efficiency of existing ones.

The railway minister was addressing a function at Howrah
station to announce launch of the Howrah-Pune bi-weekly
Duronto Express, increasing the frequency of the
Howrah-Yashwantpur Duronto Express and the Howrah-Digha daily
Duronto Express trains.

She said the railways would shortly introduce bullet
trains while toilets would be provided in suburban trains.

The minister said all precautions would be taken to
prevent train accidents, which included introduction of
anti-collision devices.
