A final decision about the Trinamool Congress forming an electoral alliance with like minded parties to contest the Bihar assembly polls would be taken by party president.

Kishanganj: A final decision about the
Trinamool Congress forming an electoral alliance with like
minded parties to contest the Bihar assembly polls would be
taken by party president and Railway minister Mamata Banerjee,
TC sources said here today.

Trinamool Congress Bihar unit minority cell general
secretary Safdar Imam and party leader Nazeem Akhtar told
reporters here that the state unit was fully geared up
to contest all the 243 assembly seats on its own strength but
the final decision whether to go alone or enter tie-up with
like minded parties would be taken by Banerjee.

The two leaders claimed that the party base in four
districts of Purnea division had increased manifold due to
some positive measures taken by Mamata Banerjee to improve the
rail links in "Seemanchal" (districts bordering Nepal and
Bangladesh) by clearing several pending railway projects.

They said the party would give maximum representation to
youth and women during ticket distribution for the state
assembly elections.
