Mamata to visit London in July

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said she will visit London in the last week of July.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said she will visit London in the last week of July.

"British Prime Minister David Cameron invited me long back, but it was election time there. Since the election is over now, I have responded to his invitation. I shall visit London in last week of July," Banerjee told reporters at the state secretariat Nabanna.

She also said Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay have also invited her to visit their country.

"I am not getting time. Let see what happens," the Chief Minister said.

However, to a question on when she would visit Bangladesh, Banerjee did not say anything.

"A direct bus service between Agartala and Kolkata via Dhaka is going to be introduced," she said.

Banerjee said the state government has taken up a state highway project, 'North-South Corridor' with a Rs 4,500 crore fund from the ADB.

"An agreement has already been signed with the ADB," she said, without elaborating on the project.
