Mamata turns away from surprise visit

Making another unscheduled visit to see for herself the affairs of state run hospitals here, Chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday had to turn back from the RG Kar Medical College Hospital because of a huge crowd.

here, Chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday had to turn back from the RG Kar Medical College Hospital because of a huge crowd.

When the Chief Minister, who holds health portfolio,
drove up to the hospital gate, she found a huge crowd had
gathered at which she did not enter but left.

Hospital authorities said that Banerjee issued an
order later for 30 additional beds in the hospital`s ICCU.

During all recent visits to state-run hospitals
starting from SSKM hospital, Bangur Institute of Neurosciences
and the Sambhunath Pandit Hospital as also the police barrack
at the Alipore Bodyguard Lines in the last three days,
Banerjee encountered huge crowds.
