Mamata`s security WB government`s responsibility: DGP

Kolkata: Security of Railway Minister Mamata
Banerjee, who enjoys `Z Plus` category, is the West Bengal
government`s responsibility, the state DGP said on Friday.

DGP Bhupinder Singh said he did not know anything about
exchange of letters between the state government and the
Centre on providing security to Banerjee. "Mamata Banerjee`s
security is the state government`s responsibility," he said.

A news item, published in a Bengali daily today claimed
that the state government had appealed to the Centre to make
security arrangements for the Railway Minister with the help
of any central agency, as she did not follow the norms of
`Z-Plus` category.
