Burdwan: One person was lynched and
another beaten up severely by villagers at Gangulydanaga near
Katwa in Burdwan district today for allegedly raping women
devotes, police sources said.
Some women devotes complained to the villagers that four
persons - Moumen Sheikh, Aiz Sheikh, Babul Sheikh and Lalbabu
Mondal had allegedly raped them last night and also snatched
money from them, the sources said.
The villagers caught hold of Moumen Sheikh and Aiz
Sheikh and thrashed them severely, the sources said.
Aiz succumbed to his injuries in the hospital while
Moumen is in a serious condition, the sources added.
