Malkangiri (Orissa): A Maoist leader, wanted
in connection with several incidents of violence, on Wednesday surrendered to police in Malkangiri district, a senior police
officer said.
Sariami Dara alias Santosh (35), self-styled deputy
commandant of a banned naxal outfit, said that he had decided
to surrender because he was disillusioned with the Maoist
activities, Superintendent of Police Anirudh Singh told
reporters here.
Santosh, who hailed from Jileliguda village under MV-79
police station area, was active in Malkangiri, Koraput and
Rayagada districts, Singh said.
