Maoists kill two CPI(M) leaders in Bengal

Suspected Maoists on Sunday killed two CPI(M) leaders and kidnapped one party supporter, while one beheaded body was recovered by the joint forces in West Midnapore district.

Midnapore: Suspected Maoists on Sunday killed two CPI(M) leaders and kidnapped one party supporter, while one beheaded body was recovered by the joint forces in West Midnapore district.

The ultras killed CPI(M) zonal committee member Rahim Patar (42) and Garmal gram panchayat pradhan Pashupati Singh (35) at Ovkharikasuli village under Shalboni police station, District Magistrate Suresh Gupta said.

Both were killed while they were returning home after some work a few km away.

CPI(M) supporter Ganesh Ahir (32) was abducted by suspected Maoists from Rashikpur village under Binpur police limit, police said. Search was on to trace him.

The joint forces recovered an unidentified beheaded body from Puluidanga village in Binpur police station area, police said. The identity of the middle-aged man`s body was yet to be established.
