Malda (WB): Around 500 passengers staged a violent protest in Malda town railway station on Sunday after they couldn`t board the unreserved compartment of an express train, officials said.
The passengers also broke window panes of the ticket counter during their protest after which GRP and RPF personnel lathicharged them.
Passengers said despite buying the tickets they could not board the train.
