Kolkata: The Maoist-backed PCPA on Saturday called
a 24-hour bandh in three districts in West Bengal on Monday to
protest against alleged atrocities by the joint security
forces.

The bandh has been called in Purulia, Bankura and West
Midnapore as people are facing atrocities from joint security
forces, a People`s Committee against Police Atrocities
spokesman told PTI.

PCPA claimed that a man Md Israil was picked up by
security personnels three days ago and beaten up mercilessly
after which he is unable to even stand. The spokesman said
joint forces have similar behaviour toward other locals.

He demanded the government and administration stop the
"atrocities" and called for people`s support to the shutdown.
