Jhargram: Maoist-backed People`s
Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCPA) today lifted its
24-day old road blockade in Jangalmahal area of West Bengal,
saying the locals were suffering a lot due to it.

The PCPA had called for the road blockade in the area
comprising West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts on
July 19 demanding withdrawal of the Joint Security Forces in
the area and a halt to all anti-Maoist operations.

PCPA sources said they called off the road blockade as
the locals were suffering a lot due to the blockade.

After the PCPA announcement, private buses have started
plying in the area.
