Siliguri: Union Finance Minister Pranab
Mukherjee on Saturday expressed hope that the solution to Gorkhaland issue would emerge from tripartite political-level talks.
"The GJM had demanded political level talks. It has
begun.. And I hope the solution to Darjeeling problem will
come out from the talks," Mukherjee said on the GJM`s demands
which now includes an interim arrangement in the Hills till
December 2011.
The union minister was here to inaugurate a digital
planetarium at the Science Centre.
"Congress since the time of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru has
been constantly trying to enlighten the common people with
knowledge of science," he said at the inauguration.
The Centre had plans to set up 25 more such planetariums
in different parts of the country, he added.
