Saradha case: Matang Sinh produced before Kolkata court

Former Union minister Matang Sinh, who was arrested in connection with the multi-crore Saradha scam, was on Saturday produced before Alipore court in Kolkata.

New Delhi: Former Union minister Matang Sinh, who was arrested in connection with the multi-crore Saradha scam, was on Saturday produced before Alipore court in Kolkata.

He was earlier remanded to 13-day judicial custody on February 1 by a city court.

Sinh was arrested in connection with the Saradha scam by CBI.

Sinh, who was arrested by Special Investigation Team of CBI, was charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and misappropriation of funds related to Saradha Realty, one of the companies of the group which is being probed by the agency.

He is the first former Union minister to be arrested by the agency in connection with the case.

The Enforcement Directorate has already provisionally attached properties worth crores of rupees allegedly belonging to Matang Sinh.
