Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Srinjoy Bose has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam, as per news reports on Monday.
Bose has been summoned days after the Calcutta High Court rejected the bail plea of businessman Sandhir Agarwal, an accused in the case.
He was arrested by the CBI for allegedly acting as a link between Saradha Group chairman Sudipta Sen and some officials of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Earlier this month, suspended TMC MP Kunal Ghosh had reportedly demanded that party chief Mamata Banerjee should be questioned.
CBI is probing the Saradha chit fund scam on the directions of the Supreme Court.
The apex court has also asked the state governments to provide all logistical help to the CBI during the investigation.
