Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned noted painter Subhaprasanna in connection with the multi-crore Saradha chitfund scam, as per news reports on Tuesday.

He was quizzed earlier also by the ED and was reportedly asked to submit documents for examination after he was said to have sold his company to Saradha chairman Sudipta Sen.

However, he said that “there was no bogus shareholder” and had received only Rs 50 lakhs from Saradha, as per news reports.

Subhaprasanna has been summoned a day after Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh alleged that West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee was the "biggest beneficiary" in the Saradha ponzi scheme scam.

Speaking outside Bankshall Court after being brought from Presidency Correctional Home, he said, "She is a coward. She should be made to sit in front of me and questioned".
