Kolkata: Suspended Trinamool Congress MP and Saradha scam accused Kunal Ghosh, who tried to commit suicide on Friday by consuming sleeping pills in jail, on Saturday demanded that guilty in the case must be punished.
News agency ANI quoted Ghosh as saying today that those who are guilty in the Saradha scam must be arrested.
Ghosh, who was yesterday rushed to the hospital, was declared to be out of danger by the doctors last night.
The state government has, meanwhile, suspended the jail superintendent, doctor and a staff on duty.
Ghosh, who had threatened to end his life if the CBI failed to take action against those involved in the scam, claimed to have taken 58 sleeping pills in a 'suicide letter'.
Later, while Ghosh was being brought back to SSKM from Bangur Institute of Neurology, a scuffle broke out between police personnel and media persons, as reporters tried to pose questions to Ghosh.
As soon as Ghosh's convoy entered, police cordoned off the entire area to stop the journalists from coming near him.
A scuffle followed between reporters and the policemen.
Later, DC-South Murlidhar Sharma said, "If something has been done by the police I will take action. But I have to see what happened,".
When pointed out that he himself was present when the scuffle took place, Sharma said, "I cannot see everywhere."
