Six injured in post civic poll violence in Hooghly

Post-civic-poll violence left six injured at Chandannagar in Hooghly district on Wednesday when bombs were allegedly thrown at a gathering of Trinamool Congress supporters, the police said.

Trinamool Congress sources alleged that the incident
occurred at Tatibagan area when bombs were thrown from a
victory procession of CPI(M) at ward number 5 that caused
injuries to a Trinamool councillor and five others.

The injured were removed to Chandannagar Sadar
hospital.

Hooghly District Superintendent of Police Satyajit
Banerjee said that an inquiry had been ordered into the
incident.

None was arrested as yet.
