Skeleton recovery case: Warrant issued against abs

A local court issued arrest warrant against 40 absconding accused in the skeleton recovery case in West Midnapore district in which former state minister Susanta Ghosh and 18 others are in jail.

arrest warrant against 40 absconding accused in the skeleton
recovery case in West Midnapore district in which former state
minister Susanta Ghosh and 18 others are in jail.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoj Rai issued the arrest
warrant against the absconders, including Ghosh`s brother
Prasanta, CPI(M) Krishak Sabha secretary Tarun Rai and Keshpur
CPI(M) zonal secretary Imtiaz Ali.

Seven skeletons were dug up from near the ancestral
residence of former Pashim Anchal Development minister Susanta
Ghosh at Benchapra in the district on June two.

The son of a Trinamool Congress worker had claimed that
he had recognised his father`s remains from the clothes on one
of the skeletons dug up from a pit near the former minister`s
residence.

Shyamal Achaya has claimed that his father Ajay was among
seven Trinamool workers who were abducted by CPI(M) cadre
after a meeting at Piyasala village in 2002 and were missing
since then.

Ghosh, who was arrested on August 11 after his plea for
extension of his bail was turned down, is the main accused in
the case.
