Slain Gorkha leader Madan Tamang`s son joins TMC

In a boost to ruling TMC`s prospects in Darjeeling hills, slain All India Gorkha League leader Madan Tamang`s son Sanjog Tamang joined the party.

Methibari: In a boost to ruling Trinamool Congress` prospects in Darjeeling hills, slain All India Gorkha League leader Madan Tamang`s son Sanjog Tamang today joined the party in Sukhna`s Methibari area.

Giving the information, North Bengal Development Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Gautam Deb told PTI, "Madan Tamang`s son Sanjog Tamang today joined Trinamool Congress in a party meet here. He will be soon given a big responsibility."

Madan Tamang, a widely respected leader in Darjeeling hills, was hacked to death in broad daylight while he was making arrangements for a public meeting at Chowkbazar near the Mall in Darjeeling town on May 21, 2010.

a separate state and it came at a time when the state government was locked in a bitter fight with the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha over the statehood issue.
