Suicide bid on Metro tracks averted

Kolkata: A suicide bid by a woman in a metro
station here was on Monday averted after the driver applied the
emergency brakes as soon as she jumped into the tracks, Metro
officials said.

The 27-year-old woman jumped before the running Dum Dum-
bound train in Sovabazar station, they said, adding that she
was rushed to R G Kar Hospital.

Train services were disrupted for about 30 minutes
following the incident, they said.
