Summoned in Saradha scam, WB minister Madan Mitra checks into hospital

West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, whom the CBI has summoned in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam case, has got himself admitted to a hospital.

Kolkata: West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, whom the CBI has summoned in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam case, has got himself admitted to a hospital.

Pradip Mitra, director, SSKM Hospital, said Mitra complained of shortness of breath and was admitted.

"He complained of dyspnea or shortness of breath after which we admitted him," Pradip Mitra said.

The minister was on Tuesday admitted to the private multi-speciality Belle Vue clinic from where he was discharged yesterday.

The special crime branch of CBI, probing the Saradha chit fund scam case, has already served summons to Mitra to appear before the agency officials for interrogation.

Besides Mitra, CBI has also served summon to TMC Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose to reappear before the agency.

A top CBI source had told news agency PTI that Mitra has been served summon and asked to appear before agency officers within this week.

This is the first time that a state minister has been summoned by the CBI in connection with the Saradha scam.
