Three killed, 25 injured in Bengal bus accident

 A mad race between two buses trying to overtake each other Sunday led to the death of three people, and left 25 others injured in northern West Bengal`s Jalpaiguri district, police said.

Siliguri: A mad race between two buses trying to overtake each other Sunday led to the death of three people, and left 25 others injured in northern West Bengal`s Jalpaiguri district, police said.

The accident took place at the Bandhunagar crossing on the national highway between Siliguri and Jalpaiguri towns.

A Dhupguri-bound bus travelling at a high speed tried to overtake another bus, but hit a pick-up van before colliding with a tree and an electric post.

Both the bus and the pick-up van overturned, and three people, including two brothers, travelling in the van died on the spot.

The injured, all bus passengers, were hospitalised.
