Malda: In the backdrop of a local Congress MLA`s recent decision to join Trinamool Congress, West Bengal Minister on Saturday met former state minister and Congress leader Abu Naser Khan at his residence here.
Later, Minister for Women and Social Welfare, Sabitri Mitra told reporters that she had gone to Khan`s residence to pay tribute to late ABA Ghani Khan Chowdhury on his 86th birth anniversary.
Khan, younger brother of Ghani Khan, said it was nothing but a courtesy call as she could not attend his elder brother`s birth anniversary function due to some preoccupations on November one.
Congress MLA from English Bazar constituency in Malda district Krishnendu Chowdhury has recently announced his decision to join Trinamool Congress along with his supporters.
Khan and five other Congress ministers pulled out of the Mamamta Banerjee government on September 22 in the aftermath of TMC`s withdrawal of support to the UPA-II government at the Centre.
