Malda (WB): Train services were disrupted for nearly an hour on Malda-New Jalpaiguri section on Sunday after local residents spotted a crack on the railway tracks near Malda Town station, officials said.

Locals stopped a goods train this morning after finding the 3-ft-long crack on the UP line used by trains going to New Jalpaiguri from Howrah, railway officials said.

Long-distance trains using the UP line were stopped at various stations after the villagers brought the crack to the notice of railway officials at Malda Town station.
