Kolkata: The ruling Trinamool Congress is ahead in most of the wards of Asansol and Bidhannagar Municipal Corporations for which counting is being held on Saturday.
Trinamool is ahead in 30 out of the 41 wards in Bidhannagar and 25 out of 106 wards of Asansol, West Bengal State Election Commission officials said.
Polling for the corporations was held on October 3 in 41 wards of Bidhannagar and 106 wards of Asansol.
Opposition parties had alleged large scale violence and malpractices in the October elections in Bidhannagar and Asansol.
Repolling was held in nine booths of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation and in two booths of Asansol Municipal Corporation yesterday.
