Trinamool Congress MP roughed up by own partymen, driven out of Bengal's Visva-Bharati University

A Trinamool Congress Party MLA was on Tuesday allegedly assaulted and obstructed from entering the Visva-Bharati University.

Kolkata: A Trinamool Congress Party MLA was on Tuesday allegedly assaulted and obstructed from entering the Visva-Bharati University.

According to News18 report, Trinamool's Bolpur MP Anupam Hazra was invited for a visit at the university at the request of the vice-chancellor. 

Hazra alleged that Gagan Sarkar, president of the university’s workers’ committee and a member of the TMC district committee, with his aides, launched an attack on him with the help of the VC. Hazra also accused the University administration of being involved in his attack and claimed that the attack carried out on him and his bodyguards by the goons were TMC backed staff union. 

According to Hazra, he was not only thrashed by Sarkar but was also driven out of the Visva-Bharati University.
