Haldia: Two CPI(M) councillors were Thursday arrested on charges of burning the houses of two Trinamool Congress activists in Haldia, police said.
Manas Bhuyian and Dulal Jana, the councillors, were arrested after the Trinamool activists filed an FIR against them for burning their houses last night.
In the meantime, Nandigram Divas was observed at various places in the East Midnapore district today to mark the March 14, 2007, firing in Nandigram which left 14 persons dead.
