Unclaimed bag creates flutter in Howrah rail station

An abandoned bag, containing a wire and two batteries, in a train caused a security scare at Howrah station today.

The bag was removed by the Railway Police Force from Up
Biswabharati Fast Passenger at Platform 14, Railway DG Dilip
Mitra said.

A sniffer dog was brought to check out any explosives
after the platform was vacated. The bag, which also contained
sand, was removed to a safe place by the bomb squad.

"The entire train was searched thoroughly, but nothing
suspicious was found," Mitra said.
