Kolkata: The West Bengal government today
permitted Trinamool Congress to hold a meeting at Lalgarh on
August 9 which would be addressed by party chief Mamata
Banerjee.

The permission to hold the meeting has been granted on
certain conditions to Trinamool. "Necessary instruction has
been given to the district administration," West Bengal Home
Secretary Samar Ghosh told reporters here.

Ghosh said as per instructions no political party should
hold a meeting in Lalgarh in West Midnapore due to security
reasons. But if some party seeks it, it could be granted on
certain conditions.

Among the conditions set for the TC meet were that the
meeting should end early enabling people to return home during
daylight, routes to the venue should be fixed and that the VIP
enclosure should be separate.

In case of intelligence inputs received between the date
of permission issued and the date of meeting, organisers must
take appropriate measures in consultation with the security
agencies and administration.
