Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta said workers who have
Provident Fund cover at least for two years will be eligible
for the health insurance.
Labour minister Anadi Sahu said beneficiaries of the
scheme would get upto Rs 5,000 annually for treatment and
In case of hospitalisation, they would get Rs 200 per day
for the first five days and Rs 100 per day for the next 10
days as compensation for their loss of income.
Workers employed in 62 kinds of commercial activities
will be included in the scheme, but those in the beedi-
making, construction and transport sectors, however, would not
be included in the scheme as the government had implemented a
separate scheme for them, Dasgupta said.
