West Bengal landslides: 'Anguished' Mamata closely monitoring situation

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday expressed her grief over the loss of lives after heavy rains and landslides struck Mirik and Kalimpong in the Darjeeling district in the state.

More than 10 people have lost their lives in the incident and the death toll is expected to increase.

"Anguished about loss of lives in Mirik/Kalimpong landslides. Home Secretary already in N Bengal," tweeted Mamata.

She also said that she was closely monitoring the situation and would reach there after her meeting in Murshidabad.
