Kolkata: A woman breached the security cordon at NSC Bose International airport here to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and seek "Didi's" intervention in her brother's murder case.

"The woman reached near Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's car at the airport on Saturday. The chief minister's car stopped and she peeped out when the woman cried 'Didi help me'," sources said.

Banerjee had arrived at the airport after her short official trip to north Bengal.

Debarati Das, accompanied by her mother, told Banerjee that her brother Dibyendu Pal was killed at Nager Bazar in northern Kolkata in front of a shop in December 2010.

She alleged that no investigation had been conducted by the police till date.

Das, a resident of Rajarhat on the northern fringes of Kolkata, told Banerjee that they had met police, wrote letters to all officials concerned but not received justice, officials said.

The chief minister assured the two women that the matter would be looked into and referred the case to Barrackpore Commissioner of Police Sanjay Mukherjee, they added.

"My brother's body was found at Rajarhat. A complaint was lodged at Dum Dum police station and a murder case was initiated but the case has not seen any progress," Das said.
