10,000 Iraqis killed since January: UN

About 10,000 Iraqis were killed and 20,000 others injured since the start of the year, the UN has said, expressing readiness to send a panel to Iraq to probe the Islamic State (IS) Sunni radical group`s crimes.

United Nations: About 10,000 Iraqis were killed and 20,000 others injured since the start of the year, the UN has said, expressing readiness to send a panel to Iraq to probe the Islamic State (IS) Sunni radical group`s crimes.

The IS carried out crimes which were undeniable and unbelievable, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra`ad Al-Hussein said at a UN Security Council session on the situation in Iraq Tuesday, MENA news agency reported Wednesday.

IS`s crimes amount to genocide, he added.
