New York: A 12-year-old boy in the US was accidentally stabbed while scuffling for a knife during an argument with his friend over an Xbox video game console.
The boy, from Queens in New York, was visiting his 13-year-old neighbour last week.
When he accused his older friend of having his Xbox video game console, the two boys got into a heated argument.
The older boy then whipped out a butter knife, police said.
The younger child attempted to grab the knife out of the teen`s hands and wound up accidentally stabbing himself in the stomach during the altercation, `New York Daily News` reported.
The victim ran home and told his aunt about the incident. She rushed him to a hospital with a small puncture wound.
He was listed in stable condition and cops were called.
"That boy is a very good child," neighbour Doreen White, said of the victim, who goes to school with her granddaughter.
"He never has a problem or beef with anybody. I never hear him out here fighting," she said.
The older boy admitted to holding the butter knife, and has been charged as a minor with menacing.
