`2 killed, terror acts foiled in Russia`s Caucasian regions` Moscow: At least two people, including a bomb disposal expert, were killed today as Russian security forces claimed to have averted major terror strikes on the 65th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in WW-II.

A bomb disposal expert with the rank of Sergeant was killed while defusing an improvised explosive device on the porch of an apartment building in Kaspiisk military garrison in the militancy infested republic of Daghestan.

Later a car blew up in a suspected suicide attack, killing its driver, who was stopped for checking at some distance from the garrison checkpost, RBC News Agency reported.

Eight years ago, 45 people were killed in Kaspiisk, including the musicians of military band, when a powerful bomb blast ripped through the V-Day parade.

In the wake of recent Moscow metro twin blasts and a series of suicide attacks in Daghestan and other Caucasian regions, the authorities tightened security across the country.

Six years ago this day, President Ahmad Kadyrov of Chechen Republic was killed in a bomb blast in the VIP enclosure of local stadium in capital Grozny.

Today a suicide bomber was shot dead in Grozny, when he tried to blow himself up near a police post, Ekho Moskvy radio reported.

The man was stopped at some distance from the police post for document check, when he tried to trigger the explosives tied on his body, the police shot him dead, the radio said.

Meanwhile, troops from World War II's western allies marched with the Russians on the historic Red Square to mark the 65th anniversary of their victory over Nazi Germany.

Soldiers from Britain, France, Poland and the US joined the 10,500 Russian troops and military contingents of the former Soviet republics at the V-Day parade on the Red Square, Russia's biggest military display since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
