47 arrested in Pakistan for having links with militants

Pak security forces have arrested 47 people suspected of having links with militants during a search operation in the restive Khyber tribal region near the Afghan border.

Peshawar: Pakistani security forces have
arrested 47 people suspected of having links with militants
during a search operation in the restive Khyber tribal region
near the Afghan border, officials said.

Security forces and the Khasadar militia jointly
conducted the operation in Landi Kotal, a border town of
Khyber Agency.

Forty Afghan nationals and seven men from Charsadda
district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province were arrested,
officials said.

The arrested people were taken to a Frontier Corps
camp for interrogation.

Officials of the political administration of Khyber
Agency told PTI that the search operation will continue till
militancy is rooted out of the region.
