London: Another technical glitch hit an All Nippon Airways787 Dreamliner following which the scheduled flight was delayed by eight hours in Tokyo.

The Frankfurt bound airplane was held in Tokyo when the cockpit message indicated a problem with the power supply to its air-conditioning system.
In the past weeks several incidents related to battery defects, led to unscheduled landings owing to safety concerns and despite four months of all 787s being grounded, the reason for their battery defects still remains unidentified.

According to the report, more than 100 passengers who were supposed to fly to Frankfurt were departed on alternative plane after eight hours.

The latest is the fourth such incident for Dreamliners in ten days in which technical glitches were the reasons.

Boeing spokesperson Yvonne Leach said that 787 Dreamliner is a great plane and it will continue to receive heightened attention when reliability events occur in the service.
United is the sole US operator of the airplane, which boasts high fuel efficiency due to the lightweight carbon-composite materials, used in its wings and fuselage.

Airlines worldwide have committed to buying the plane, and hundreds of millions of dollars are riding on Dreamliner`s success however, the recent technical glitches have increased leading to regular unscheduled landings.
