Ailing Bush senior shifted to ICU

Houston: Former US president George H W Bush has been admitted to the intensive care unit at a hospital here after suffering "a series of setbacks," including a stubborn fever, his spokesman said on Thursday.

The 88-year-old Bush Sr, who has been in the hospital with a lingering cough since November 23, could not celebrate Christmas with his family.

His spokesman Jim McGrath said the former president's fever rose yesterday, but doctors at Methodist Hospital said he is doing better than the day before and was alert and talking to medical staff.

The 41st president was admitted to Methodist Hospital in late November for a bronchitis-related cough and has remained there to regain strength.

I wonder if the doctors have tried the bullet called AVALOX? I had that darn cough for months and AVALOX knocked it out of me!
