An attempt by a group of men in China to photograph a mentally deranged naked woman in a moving train has triggered a nationwide outrage.

Beijing: An attempt by a group of men in
China to photograph a mentally deranged naked woman in a
moving train has triggered a nationwide outrage.

The outrageous act which became public has evoked
sharp reactions on the internet with the people labelling the
men as "sickening" , and saying the incident had brought shame
to China.

While the train staff and women passengers tried to
calm her down and help her to wear clothes, a bunch of men
crowded her taking video pictures on their cell phones which
was widely condemned by the public in the internet sites,
Shanghai Daily reported.

The actions of these passengers, mostly young men
but also including some in their fifties or sixties, have led
to widespread anger and condemnation across the Internet, the
Daily reported.

"They gathered around the girl, scaring her with
flashlights and camera shutter sounds. She kept screaming, but
they didn`t stop," en eyewitness said.

Liu Chunquan, a lawyer said the men`s behaviour
reflected moral degeneration and warned that anyone who
uploaded footage online or showed pictures in public would be
punished by law for violating a person`s reputation and
spreading pornography.

The young woman, who comes from Anshan, Liaoning
Province, finally received help from the train`s crew and was
sent to hospital.

"Sickening," said web user on the popular website
sina.com.

"How can they make fun out of a mental patient? Would
they do the same thing if she happened to be their relatives?"
"These people bring shame to China," said another post
on the same website, "They are suffering some mental problems
that needed to be treated at once," the blogger said.
